240 Downpatrick, Bus Station - Newry, Buscentre

Due to a road closure between Mayobridge and Newry, from Monday 17 November - Friday 28 November services will operate as follows;

During the closure, 240 services will operate from Hilltown - Rathfriland - Newry, services will be unable to operate to Mayobridge. 
Stops on Newry Road Hilltown will not be served, instead the services will operate via bus stops on the Rathfriland Road Hilltown.Service 33 will operate from/to Newry, Rathfriland, Hilltown then in to Mayobridge - passengers to board or alight at Gormans Bar on Bavan Road.

School Services:

Due to a major Road Closure commencing Monday 17th November 2025 for two weeks there will be no stops serviced between Mayobridge and Ardfreelin Roundabout Newry.

School pupils that normally congregate at the Bus Shelter in Mayobridge ( Chapel Hill ) are being asked to be at Gormans Bar on Bavan Road for pick up in the mornings.

Return School Services in the evening will be Newry – Rathfriland – Hilltown – Mayobridge – And out the Bavan Road to service the road to Drumgath.

From Tuesday Morning Students living along the Bavan Road Drumgath will be picked up slightly later than normal as buses travelling from Rathfriland will travel via Hilltown – Mayobridge and then the Bavan Road onwards to Newry.

Students living between Crossan Road and Mayobridge will have to travel to Mayobridge (Gormans Bar . Same in the afternoon.

Students living between Aughnagon Road and Ardfreelin Roundabout ( Newry ) will have to travel to said roundabout for buses. Same in the afternoon.
