Due to planned roadworks, beginning week commencing Monday 4th May 2026 until Monday 11th May 2026, the following Ulsterbus services will be altered.

Dromore Road, Hillsborough Tuesday 5th May 2026 until Monday 11th May 2026: 

h38/i38 services will pick up at the Old Dromore Road. This will be the only stop in Hillsborough.
b38 services will divert via Culcavy Road, Lisburn Street then onto a1 carriageway.
k26 services will divert via Ballynahinch Street, Lisburn Street then onto a1 carriageway.
651a services from Dromore will enter Hillsborough via Lisburn Street, Carnreagh, Carnreagh Road, Ballynahinch Street, Lisburn Street and Hillsborough Roundabout.
651a services from Belfast and all 538 services will use established stops on a1 carriageway.

Leapogues Road Wednesday 6th May 2026 from 08:00 until 18:00:

h38 schools services will divert via Howe Road and Ballynahinch Road

Drumlough Road Thursday 7th May 2026 from 08:00 until 18:00:

v38 and o38 services will divert via Tullynore Road and Raffertys Hill.

Ballycoan Road Saturday 9th May 2026 from 08:00 until 18:00:

513 services 08:15 from Belfast and 08:55 from Drumbo will operate via Purdysburn Hill, Ballylesson Road and Drumbo Road.

Due to road works taking place on the Dromore Road Hillsborough from Tuesday 5th May 2026 until Sunday 10th May 2026 from 09:30 until 23:59, Ulsterbus and Goldliner services will operate as follows:

Tuesday 5th May 2026 until Friday 8th May 2026 from 08:00 until 09:30 only:

Buses will be permitted one-way access into Hillsborough via the Dromore Road towards Belfast.

238 services from Belfast towards Newry will drop off and pick up on the main A1 carriageway just after the roundabout at Hillsborough (on the hard shoulder at the beginning of the A1)
238 services from Newry towards Belfast - intending passengers are advised to use 651a or 538 services, or make their way to Sprucefield Park and Ride, or Sprucefield Shopping centre.

Tuesday 5th May 2026 until Friday 9th May 2026, after 09:30 and for the remainder of each day:

538 and 651a services will operate from Hillsborough roundabout, left on to Carnreagh Road, right on to Ballynahinch road and then left on to Lisburn Street and back out to the roundabout. Please avail of the bus stops on Ballynahinch road or Lisburn street for these services. 

238 services from Belfast towards Newry will drop off and pick up on the main a1 carriageway just after the roundabout at Hillsborough.
238 services from Newry towards Belfast - intending passengers are advised to use 651a or 538 services, or make their way to Sprucefield Park and Ride, or Sprucefield Shopping centre.

Saturday 9th May 2026 and Sunday 10th May 2026:There will be a full road closure on Dromore Road.

Buses will not be able to travel country-bound through Hillsborough via Dromore Road.538 and 651a services will operate from Hillsborough roundabout, left on to Carnreagh Road, right on to Ballynahinch road and then left on to Lisburn Street and back out to the roundabout. Please avail of the bus stops on Ballynahinch road or Lisburn street for these services.
