From Monday 25 to Friday 29 May, improvement works will take place at Piccadilly Gardens. During this time, no trams will operate between St Peter's Square/Market Street and Piccadilly. There will be service changes on the Ashton-under-Lyne, Eccles, East Didsbury, Trafford Centre and Altrincham lines. Customers may need to change trams, take a short walk or use the free bus to continue their journeys.

Rochdale Line - Tram Improvement Works

Saturday 16 – Saturday 30 May 2026

From Saturday 16 to Friday 29 May, no trams will operate between Victoria and Rochdale Town Centre. During this time, the East Didsbury line will start from Exchange Square and the Trafford Centre line will operate operate to Crumpsall via Market Street. A bus replacement service will operate between Victoria and Rochdale Town Centre.

Shudehill/Market Street - Tram Improvement Works

Monday 1 – Wednesday 10 June 2026

From Monday 1 to Tuesday 9 June, improvement works will take place in the city centre. During this time, no trams will operate via Shudehill or Market Street. Customers may need to change trams, take a short walk or use the free bus to continue their journeys.

Deansgate-Castlefield & Trafford Bar - Tram Improvement Works

Sunday 12 July – Monday 3 August 2026

From Monday 13 July to Sunday 2 August, tram improvement works will take place at various locations on the network including between Deansgate-Castlefield and Trafford Bar, in the city centre and on the Eccles line. During this time, no trams will operate on the Eccles, Trafford Centre and Altrincham lines, with further service changes in place across the network. A replacement bus service will operate between the affected stops.

Manchester Marathon 2026

Sunday 19 – Monday 20 April 2026

To support participants and spectators attending the Manchester Marathon 2026, tram service changes will be in place on the day. The Trafford Centre line will operate to Crumpsall and the Manchester Airport line will operate to Deansgate-Castlefield. Tram services will also run between Altrincham - Victoria, and Altrincham - Etihad Campus, providing a 7.5 minute frequency between the city centre and Altrincham.

Delays - Metrolink Network

From Saturday 18 April 2026

Due to protest activity in the city centre services across all Metrolink lines are currently delayed.
Passengers can use their tickets on Bee Network Buses in Greater Manchester.
Customers on Rochdale, East Didsbury, Manchester Airport, Ashton and Altrincham lines can use tickets and passes on Northern Rail services.

Metrolink apologises for any inconvenience caused.
