Merchants Quay Closure - Service Information
Sunday 8 February – Sunday 1 March 2026
From Sunday 8 February 2026, there will be road closures for a period of 3 weeks along Merchants Quay, leading to both Sugar Island and Canal Street, and New Street leading to the courthouse roundabout. These closures will be between the following hours:
For 3 Sundays beginning Sunday 8 February, 06:00 – 20:00. Monday – Saturday closures, Night Closures, 19:00 – 06:00, beginning Monday 9 February.
During these closures,
x1 services to operate: In and Out via the Dublin Road.
238 services will access the Bus Centre via Patrick Street, Francis Street and Merchants Quay. Inward journeys will operate via the Dublin Road.
240 services can access the Bus station as normal. For the 240 service to Downpatrick at 20:40, the service will operate via Buttercrane Quay, Abbey Way and Upper Water Street and continue on as normal from the Brass Monkey Roundabout.
