From Thursday 8 January 2026

Bus services serving Higher Road will be diverted to serve Wood Road in both directions from Wednesday 07 January 2026 until further notice. Torrington Road will also be closed from 15 January for 4 weeks

Service 188
• From Belle Vale will operate as normal route to Higher Road, then via Wood Road, Leathers Lane to Hillingden Avenue, then resume normal route to Belle Vale (Omitting a section Higher Road and a section of Leathers Lane).
Alternative bus stops: Higher Road, opposite Blackburne Drive and Halewood Shopping Centre.

Baileys Lane (Halewood)

From Friday 17 April 2026

Due to ongoing works on Baileys Lane, services 79, 166 and 188 will be on diversion from Friday 17 April 2026 until further notice.

Service 188
• From Belle Vale will operate as normal via Gateacre Village, Woolton, Garston, Liverpool South Parkway to Leathers Lane, then via Wood Road, Hollies Road to Church Road, then as normal route to Belle Vale (omitting a section of Leathers Lane, Baileys Lane and a section of Church Road).
This service will call at Halewood Shopping Centre, Stop C and Okell Drive, near Helston Avenue.

Speke Hall Road (Hunts Cross)

09:00 – 19:00, Monday 11 – Friday 15 May 2026

Speke Hall Road will be closed, between Hillfoot Avenue and Triumph Way, from Monday 11 May 2026 for approximately 5 days, between 0900 and 1900 each day.

Service 188

From Belle Vale will travel as normal via Liverpool South Parkway and Garston to Speke Road, then via Speke Boulevard, Woodend Avenue to Hillfoot Avenue, then as normal route via Halewood to Belle Vale (omitting Speke Hall Avenue and a section of Hillfoot Avenue).
This service will call at the stops on Speke Road, near Speke Hall Road; and Hunts Cross Interchange, Hillfoot Avenue, near Speke Road, Stop C.
