The Belfast Marathon takes place on Sunday 3 May 2026 Road closures will commence from 07:30 approx.
During closures services will operate as follows:
G1 from McKinstry:
Suspended from 9:00- until runners pass Kennedy Way/Donegal Road. Once Services have resumed Out from College Square East.
G1 from Dundonald:
Suspended from 07:45 -10:00 then: In via Newtownards Road, Bridge End, Station Street, Queens Road. Out From Queens Road, Station Street, Bridge End, Newtownards Road.
G1 services will NOT operate crosstown
10a/10h:
From 9:00 until runners pass Kennedy Way to operate Out from stand 12 in Belfast Grand Central Station then via Europa busway, M1, Blacks Road, Stewartstown Road. In: via Stewartstown Road, Blacks Road, M1, Europa Busway.
10j/k services suspended until Falls Rd reopens
Once runners pass Kennedy Way and Falls Road reopens 10 services will depart out from Queen Street.
G2 suspended until Central Area opens then Out from May Street via Adelaide Street, Ormeau Avenue, Cromac Street, East Bridge Street, Short Strand, Bridge End, Station Street, then as normal. In via Short Strand, Albertbridge and May Street.
East Belfast Service: from 08:20-12:00
3a services- In as normal to Bridge End then via Station Street. Out from Station Street ( East Side P&R. Staff will be in area directing passengers.)
4e services- suspended from 9:00-12:00 or until Albertbridge Road reopens
5a service suspended from 9:00-12:00 or until Castlereagh Road reopens
6a service suspended from 8:20-12:00 or until Albertbridge Road reopens
From 12:00 ALL East Belfast services will operate Out from May Street via Adelaide Street, Ormeau Avenue, Cromac Street, East Bridge Street then as normal. 3a service the same then OUT and IN via Short Strand/Middlepath Street
Bridge End will remain closed until approximately 15:00
Antrim Road Services (Metro 1) from 9:30 will operate In as normal then via Fortwilliam Park, Shore Road, Nelson Street, York Street. Out from York Street ( York Street Rail Station) , Nelson Street, Shore Road, Fortwilliam Park then as normal.
When Central Area reopens services will operate In to Nelson Street then via Westlink, Divis Street, Wellington Place. Out from Wellington Place via reverse route.
Shore Road Services (Metro 2) as normal until Nelson Street, York Street. Out from York Street ( York Street Rail Station), Nelson Street, Shore Road, Fortwilliam Park then as normal.
When Central Area reopens services will operate In to Nelson Street then via Westlink, Divis Street, Wellington Place. Out from Wellington Place via revese route.
8a Services from 9:00-12:30 In as normal to University Road then via University Square, Botanic Avenue, University Street.Out from University Street.
When Central Area reopens In via University Square, University Avenue, Ormeau Road, Cromac Street, May St. Out from Donegall Square East.
9 Services suspended from 9:00 until Central Area reopens then Out from Donegall Square East. via Grosvenor Road, Westlink, M1, Blacks Road then as normal.
Four Winds 7/ Belvoir 6c: suspended 9:00-13:00 then In via Saintfield Road, Annadale, Governors Bridge, Stranmillis Road, University Road, Great Victoria Street and Bruce Street. Out from Dublin Road via University Road, Malone Road, Milltown Road, Belvoir Road, Saintfield Road, Upper Galwally, Upper Knockbreda Road, Saintfield Road then as normal.
Shankill Road / Ligoniel / Carrs Glen (Metro 11 & 12) from 9:00 services suspended until race passes Agnes Street. Once services resume they will leave from their normal departure points.
City Airport 600 - To operate from Belfast Grand Central Station via Busway, Westlink, turning at Broadway then Westlink, M3, Sydenham by-pass.

Irish Congress of Trade Unions are to hold a parade on Saturday 2 May 2026 Starting at 12:00 in Donegal Street then via Royal Avenue, Donegal Place, Chichester Street, Victoria Street, High Street for finish in Donegal Street at 14:00
During the parade services will operate:
G1 West to East:
In as normal to Divis Street then via Millfield, Carrick Hill, Frederick Street, Dunbar Link, Oxford Street then as normal.
G2:
In as normal to May Street then out via College Square East, Divis Street, Westlink, M3, Station Street then as normal
East Belfast (Metro 3, 4, 5,6) services will operate:
In as normal to May Street.
Out from Adelaide Street, Ormeau Avenue, Cromac Street, East Bridge Street then as normal.with 3a/3f services via Albertbridge Road, Short Strand, Bridge End, Dalton Street, Middlepath Street then as normal.
8 & 9 services will operate:
In via Bruce Street and Bedford Street.
Out from Howard Street.
Antrim Rd services (Metro 1) to operate:
In via Clifton Street, Frederick Street, Dunbar Link, Oxford Street, May Street to Upper Queen Street.
Out from Queen Street, Millfield, Carrick Hill, Clifton Street then as normal
Shore Rd/express (Metro 2, 13, 14):
In as normal to Nelson Street then via Dunbar Link, Oxford Street, May Street to Upper Queen Street.
Out from Queen Street, Millfield, Carrick Hill, Frederick Street, York Street then as normal

In via Clifton Street, Frederick Street, Dunbar Link, Oxford Street, May Street to Upper Queen Street.
