Listerdale, adjacent to Bawtry Road/Springfield Road

Overgrown trees on Middle Lane South, at Herringthorpe playing fields, have caused damage to double decker buses on service X1 travelling along the route, smashing windows and risking the safety of passengers and other road users. Until these trees are pruned by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, service X1 will be diverted away from the area. This is effective from Monday 29th September, until further notice – due to capacity issues elsewhere on the service.

Effective from Monday 29th September 2025, until further notice:

Service X1 will divert via Wickersley Road and Broom Road, not serving Middle Lane South or Badsley Moor Lane, during the above times.

Service 114 will continue to serve stops on Middle Lane South near Spenser Road and Longfellow Drive.

As soon as suitable tree pruning can safely be completed by RMBC, service X1 will resume along the normal route.
