Walton Breck Road/Oakfield Road, between Sleepers Hill and Kemp Avenue (Eastbound only), will be closed from Monday 10 August 2026 for approximately 7 months due to regeneration works.

• From Bootle will be as normal route to Spellow Lane, then via left onto Walton Lane, Priory Road, then as normal route to Aigburth. (Omits Walton Lane, Anfield Road, Sleepers Hill, Walton Breck Road, Wylva Road and Arkles Lane).
Alternative bus stop: County Road, near Eton Street; Walton Lane, near Bullens Road; all stops on Priory Road and Priory Road near Wenlock Road.

• From Aigburth will travel as normal route to Walton Breck Road but will not use the bus stops: 40055A (Walton Breck Road, opposite Liverpool Football Club); 40126A (Walton Breck Road, near Venice Street); and Walton Breck Road, near Burleigh Road North).
Alternative bus stop: Arkles Lane, near Anfield Road and Walton Lane, near Florence Street.

Alternative bus stops: Everton Road, opposite Lloyd Close; all stops on Breck Road; all stops on Priory Road and Utting Avenue, near Priory Road.

• From Kirkby/Aintree University Hospital will travel as normal routes to Walton Breck Road but will not use the bus stops: 40055A (Walton Breck Road, opposite Liverpool Football Club); 40126A (Walton Breck Road, near Venice Street); and Walton Breck Road, near Burleigh Road North).
